For many people, a morning cup of coffee is nothing more than a way to wake up. In reality, our choice in coffee can make a huge difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
Justin & Emily Carabello started a philanthropic coffee roasting company that equitably sources the coffee sold in their Newport, KY shop and puts the profit back into the community from where it was sourced. They wanted the world to know that money spent on coffee at Carabello doesn’t simply benefit the owners, but also orphans in Nicaragua. Our cinematographer spent a week in Nicaragua with Justin Carabello and was able to capture footage of the kids who were directly affected by Carabello’s success.
We were blown away by the response to this video. It was played for large church audiences and received 346 shares, 562 likes and 61 comments on Facebook with a total of 5,240 plays on Vimeo. Most importantly, the Carabello Story drove people to think about the economic impact of their coffee choices.
